Server change over.
30/03/2009 15:47
As you may have realised lately, streams have not been at their upmost in quality and web sites have not been loading to our required speed. Due to these problems, we have been investigating the problen and we have found that the bandwidth on our current server is not enough, so we have made the decision to move to another server, with a bandwidth connection that can take 10x as much traffic. Although this will cause just a few hours of dowtime for users, we beleive this will be well worth it. File Transfer Due to the amount of data we have on our server, we will need to start our data transfer earlier than usual. We will begin the server transfer at 6PM GMT on Thursday 2nd April 2009. Any changes to your hosting or SHOUTcast after this time will be made for the time being, but may not be transferred to the new server, meaning the changes will be lost. Server Downtime To be able to process the upgrade, we will need to re-propagate the domain name servers. You will not need to make any changes on your domain control panel, the name servers will remain as ns1.mr-host.com and ns2.mr-host.com. We will begin the server changeover on Friday 3rd April 2009 at around 9AM GMT. There should be a minimum of 1 hours downtime and a maximum of 2-3 hours, although this may be longer. Nobody can predict how long a domain propagation will take. Server's IP Address Every server has a different set of IP addresses. We do not know what they will be at the current time, but we will know by Wednesday evening at the latest. What we do know is that your SHOUTcast port will remain the same and that you will need to change the IP address in any of your broadcasting software and scripts. We apologise for the inconvinience. SHOUTcast Streaming If you stream to our old IP address, you will experience problems as our old server will be up for a while. You will need to stream to our new server once it is working. Offline Support During the downtime, you will be unable to contact us, but if you email me personally on mpburley@gmail.com, I will be able to help you. Please note that we will not provide support on this email address once the server is back up. If you have any questions between now and Friday Morning, please let me know. Thank you for reading this email. I apologise for the down time you will be having and the inconvinience of changing your settings but I am sure this will improve your MB-GROUP.net experience very much. I apologise if this affects your web site's schedule.Powered by WHMCompleteSolution
